Birmingham clubs unite for protest party against railway plans
Digbeth clubs stage a protest party to stop the railway project endangering their venues.
This weekend, Silva Bumpa, Fleur Shore, Low Steppa, Monki, Jess Bays and Fat Tony will take the stage at a unique Digbeth event, organized by Birmingham’s club community to denounce the railway plan that could demolish several venues. The action will take place in an undisclosed space, but a massive turnout of techno and house underground fans is expected.
Organisers have warned that the railway project would jeopardise the neighbourhood’s cultural infrastructure, threatening regular events and residencies. With local artists performing and specialist press coverage, the protest aims to pressure city officials to rethink the proposed route before construction begins.
