Carl Cox revisits Space Ibiza’s Closing Fiesta
Ten years on, the techno legend shares memories of Space’s final Closing Fiesta. Cox’s residency defined an era on the island.
Carl Cox looks back at the final Closing Fiesta of Space Ibiza in September 2016, ten years later. His residency started in 2001 with just six nights and, after growing over the years, reached its 15th season, ending with an open‑to‑close vinyl set.
The party featured Maceo Plex, Kölsch, Tale Of Us, Josh Wink and Nic Fanciulli in a marathon that marked the definitive end of the Playa d’en Bossa venue. The Space brand lives on, and Cox headlined the opening of Space Riccione in Italy in 2024.
