Eric Prydz back at Amnesia, ten years on

On 5 August, in the Terraza, the Swede played Amnesia for the first time since 2015. An hour and three quarters, almost all of it drawn from Cirez D, his harder alias, on a RESISTANCE night with Maceo Plex, Adam Beyer and Yulia Niko.

The last time Eric Prydz played Amnesia was 27 August 2015, on a Cream night. He came back on 5 August, in the Terraza, inside week three of this season’s RESISTANCE, with Yulia Niko opening and Maceo Plex and Adam Beyer taking the rest of the night.

The set ran an hour and forty-five minutes and roughly nine tracks in ten came from Cirez D, the alias Prydz reserves for the hardest end of his catalogue. The classics arrived at the close, when there was nothing left to prove.

The interesting part was the rest: the production — quad CO2 cannons, synced visuals — was there, but underneath the music rather than on top of it. Prydz is known for shows that swallow the booth; this one left room for the DJ.
