Fred again.. creates Apple Music's new logo with sound waves

Apple Music unveils new visual identity with Fred again.., using sound compositions to design the new logo and sonic signature.

Apple Music unveiled its new visual identity on October 21st, designed alongside Fred again.. and NEST Acoustics. The branding is built on the 'made by sound' concept, using real musical frequencies to generate rippling liquid forms that now define the streaming service's look.

The UK DJ composed an original track played through a transducer submerged in mineral oil. The resulting ripples were filmed to create the visuals, while the music also serves as Apple Music's new sonic signature. Fred again.. also contributed to the GTA VI soundtrack, collaborating with PinkPantheress, Etienne de Crécy and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso on 'Sexy Magic'.

"We wanted sound to create the visuals," Apple explained in the behind-the-scenes film. The artist, who ranked No. 33 in Top 100 DJs poll 2026, also shared his view on AI music, stating: "The opposite of AI music maybe isn't human music. It's making music."
