Melanie C tattoos the Pachá cherries and debuts tonight at Flower Power
Her fifth summer in the club’s booth and her first time at Flower Power — on the last Saturday of the season. The Spice Girl has had the two cherries inked on her forearm and shares the night with Roger Sánchez, singing alongside him.
There are ways and ways of saying a club matters to you. Melanie C has gone for the one that is hardest to undo: she has had Pachá’s two cherries tattooed on her forearm, the symbol that has hung over that Ibiza dancefloor for half a century.
The reason is her fifth straight summer DJing at the club, and one night in particular: this Saturday the 29th she makes her debut at Flower Power, the Saturday party hosted this year by Roger Sánchez, which closes its season tonight after opening on 13 June.
“Crazy to think this is my 5th summer DJing Pacha Ibiza and I love it,” she said herself while showing off the tattoo. In the same message she gave notice that she is not only playing records: she is singing with Sánchez, who runs Flower Power from the inside.
The reading is the usual one on this island, and it does not age: a CV counts for little here, coming back counts for everything. Five summers are five summers, and a tattoo is a signature that cannot be denied come September.
