Suspect arrested after Aarau rave shooting

Aarau cantonal police detained a 43‑year‑old man in the early hours of August 31, following the shooting that occurred at 2:30 am on August 30 at a techno event held at the Aarau horse‑racing track near Zurich. Authorities say a shooter opened fire on attendees of the Aarauer Rave.
The fatal victim was 22‑year‑old Italian Maria Spinelli; five other people aged 24‑27 were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. Organisers posted a statement on Instagram Stories, expressing shock, thanking police and pledging full cooperation with the investigation.
