£5,000 bursary for indie festivals
Skiddle and AIF launch a £5,000 aid for 20 small festivals, offering legal support and resources for a year.
Ticketing platform Skiddle and the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) have unveiled a £5,000 bursary for small independent festivals with capacities of up to 2,500 attendees. The scheme will support up to 20 events, providing a year‑long AIF membership, webinars, legal advice and a range of resources throughout the year.
AIF CEO John Rostron said there is no manual for running a festival, but the network of nearly 200 organisers at AIF shares knowledge and support. Applications – open to festivals operating for at least two years – close on 17 September. The bursary complements the UK government’s £45 million Music Plan.
