Everything But The Girl announce 'Blue Reservoir' and share 'Young and Dumb'
Everything But The Girl announce their eleventh studio album, 'Blue Reservoir', set for release on February 19, 2027. The first single, 'Young and Dumb', is out now with an official music video.
Everything But The Girl (EBTG) have announced their eleventh studio album, 'Blue Reservoir', scheduled for release on February 19, 2027 via Buzzin' Fly and Virgin Music Group. The first single, 'Young and Dumb', is out now accompanied by a video directed by Edward Bishop. The album marks a shift towards a more guitar-led sound, moving away from the electronica of 'Fuse' (2023) and returning to their British folk and blues roots, inspired by their sold-out residency at London's MOTH Club in 2025.
The album was recorded live over 10 days in July 2026 at RAK Studios in London with contributions from Rex Horan on double bass, Evan Jenkins on drums and Brazilian percussionist Fabio de Oliveira. Notably, Blake Watt, the duo's son, guests on two tracks, and Ben Watt purchased a Spanish nylon-string guitar in January 2026, which became central to the writing process. The tracklist features 'Forward', 'Scala', 'Young and Dumb', 'Do What You Can', 'Christmas Gone', 'Courage Mon Brave', 'The Round and Round', 'Fork in the Road', 'Good Hope' and 'The Great Unknown'.
"There was an intensity and simplicity to the MOTH shows that took us back to how we started out", said Tracey Thorn on their return to the stage. "Direct, rooted in guitar and voice, a few extra colours. We hadn't been in that world for a long time and it just felt fresh and real.". Ben Watt added: "It is the sound of so much of the music I first connected with growing up, and I'd never actually owned one. It became quite an emotional springboard for me. I found a voice I thought I'd lost."
The first 1,000 orders through the official store will include a signed card. 'Blue Reservoir' will be released on black and translucent blue vinyl, CD and Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos mixes. Rough Trade will also offer a limited edition marbleised vinyl pressing. The album includes covers and surprises from their live shows, blending their Everything But The Girl career with their respective solo careers, with additional dates at MOTH Club and Union Chapel throughout 2027.
