The opening track had barely started when the system crackled and died. Sound returned 15 to 20 minutes later; the 10PM curfew left no room to extend a set that carried on with the crowd still locked in.
Amelie Lens and Sara Landry shared a UK booth for the first time on Friday 21 August. The setting was Magazine Open—Air on Greenwich Peninsula: a two-hour b2b from eight until ten, with London behind the stage.
The opening track never had time to settle. The system began to crackle and the audio dropped out completely. Sara Landry took the microphone to explain there was a technical problem and that they would return; sound took between 15 and 20 minutes to come back.
The venue apologised afterwards and described a technical audio fault. The 10PM curfew made it impossible to recover the lost time, so there was no extension: they had roughly ninety minutes left to turn a broken opening into a set.
They did. The revealing moment was not the silence but the instant the kick returned and the floor answered as if the wait had been part of the build.
